From even before we were married, we knew that we wanted to grow our family through adoption. During our early years of marriage, God cultivated in us a “heart expansion,” moving away from a narrow love and focus toward a love for ALL children in need of a loving home. After having 2 biological children, we knew God was calling us to build the rest of our family through adoption. 

If you’ve adopted, you know that this brings on decision after decision after decision! God began to open our eyes and our hearts for the country of Ethiopia. We started our paperwork in February 2009 and brought home our sweet Elijah Habtamu the day after Thanksgiving, 2009! Through that process, God changed us in ways we never expected. He provided for us financially, through grants like the one we received from Show Hope. He took us to a place of complete trust in Him…trust that He was a better Father to our son than we could be while apart. He opened our hearts and minds to things we never dreamed we could do. 

After being home with Elijah for 9 months now, we are deep in the process for our second child from Ethiopia. It was not what we originally planned for our family, but God started stirring in us. We believe our child is waiting…so we move ahead in great anticipation for meeting the next McBride! We are so grateful for Show Hope to give our family another opportunity to raise funds for our second adoption through Shirts of Hope! 

We are excited to be able to sell Shirts of Hope. Not only is this a way to raise funds for our adoption, but we are also raising awareness for orphans and Show Hope at the same time! Before launching the sale, we asked 20 of our friends to sell 20 shirts for us, and almost everyone agreed! We're praying to sell 500 shirts! Shirts of Hope makes it easy, and Show Hope is a "brand" people trust and love! Thanks for helping bring our children home!
